BrixenClassics

What is Klanglabor@BrixenClassics 2022?

Festival 2022

From 03.-18. June 2022 the Klanglabor@BrixenClassics project will take place in beautiful Brixen. Brixen is located in South Tyrol, in northern Italy in the middle of the Alps.

Under the direction of the music director of the Brixen Classics, Daniel Geiss, a wide variety of concert and chamber music programs will be developed and performed at breathtaking concert venues for two weeks. Together with world-famous singers and the lecturers like Stanko Madic (Concertmaster BR), Arthur Hornig (solo cellist Deutsche Oper Berlin and solo cellist Bayreuther Festspiele), Julia Okruashvili (Cologne University of Music), Johannes Baumann (German Radio Philharmonic), Carla Rodrigues (San Francisco Opera), Viola Wilmsen (Solo Oboe DSO Berlin)  and section leaders of the BelgradeChamberOrchestra, the project has an education approach that enables young musicians to learn from and with professionals.

In addition to numerous orchestral and chamber concerts, one of the highlights of this year’s festival is Carl Maria von Weber’s Freischütz in a version specially arranged for the festival by Daniel Geiss, with soloists such as Michael Volle, Gabriela Scherer, Chris Ventris and a selected academist singer as Ännchen.

We are also delighted to include the BrixenClassics Festival Choir.
